Try running reef runners 120-150 back. #6 colorado blades and #5 double willow blades have been the best similar to the lures on display in the store. The best bite for numbers of walleye has defanatly been around the Green and Rattlesnake Island area. Most fish have been 16-22 inches with an occasional 25-28 inch fish. The best spot on spot has been 3 miles west of Rattlesnake Island. Look for Charters who are catching fish and stay on the active school once you find them. People are having the best luck trolling dipsey divers and tru trip jets(size 30) with Michigan Stinger Scorpion spoons and double willow leaf worm harnesses. The best speed has been 2.0-2.5. Anglers are also having very good luck casting weight forward spinners and mayfly rigs. The best blade has been a #4 hammered Indiana blade with orange or pink beads. Depending on the conditions fisherman are using 1/3, 1/2, and 1 ounce inline sinkers. A lot of charter captains have said this has been the best casting bite of the year and many have been in early with a limit catch. They've been pulling dipseys with Michigan Scorpion spoons going about 2.0-2.5 MPH. They have had thier 3 man limit most days by noon. Perch: The best perch bite has been approximently 1 mile south of green island, East of Kelly's Island off the airport, F can off the firing range, and off of balast Island. Farther east anglers have been doing well North of the Huron river, and north of Vermillion off the condos in 37 fow. Most anglers are using Spreaders tipped with Lake Erie Shinners fished on or near the bottom.
