Captain Don Lowther was named 2012 Charter Boat Captain of the Year by the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association in conjunction with the Ohio DNR and Ohio SeaGrant. Captain Don "Buffalo" Lowther is a native of Port Clinton area and lives there year round. His full-time profession is running charters. He starts running in late March and fishes through the beginning of November. He runs a small family business. If you charter with HIM, you will fish with HIM. When he takes you out, he will do everything to give you the best day possible. Don has over 40 years of experience on Lake Erie, 30 of them as a full-time charter boat captain running his own business. He holds a six issue U.S. Coast Guard License and is a licensed Ohio Guide. He is treasurer of Lake Erie Charter Boat Association and a member of the Pure Fishing Team. Captain Don has the ability and the knowledge of Lake Erie to put you on the bite as shown in his years of experience. In addition to his experience, he has many contacts on the lake that keep him informed on the latest fishing information.
